Role description
The Siena Partnership are working with a Financial Services provider seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support and enhance AI-driven solutions across the business on a 6-month contract.
This role sits within the central Data & Analytics function and reports to the Director of Data.
The role
• Evaluate, optimise, and enhance existing AI/ML and agentic AI models developed by third-party vendors
• Ensure models are robust, scalable, well-documented, and aligned with regulatory requirements
• Support knowledge transfer and help build a permanent in-house data science capability
• Work closely with technology teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership
Key requirements
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic AI frameworks
• Understanding of data pipelines, cloud environments, and model governance
• Background in financial services or asset management preferred
• Confident communicator able to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
