Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary
We are seeking a passionate and driven data science professional to join a dynamic, fast-paced team focused on delivering high-impact insights for one of the most iconic gaming franchises in the world. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping strategy by providing reporting and analytics across consumer products and "beyond the game" initiatives, including licensed merchandise and out-of-game experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholder teams spanning Consumer Products, Partnerships, and Marketing to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. This is a hybrid position requiring three days onsite per week, offering a collaborative environment where your analytical expertise and intellectual curiosity will directly influence franchise-level decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, can manage multiple priorities across diverse stakeholder groups, and communicates insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Job Responsibilities
• Partner with the Consumer Products team and data engineering to transform consumer products data into clear reporting and actionable insights
• Identify key learnings from analysis and synthesize them into strategic recommendations for stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with fellow data scientists to incorporate beyond-the-game findings into major analyses and franchise reporting
• Conduct data analysis for stakeholder groups across Partnerships, Marketing, and Consumer Products, including evaluating ROI of out-of-game initiatives and optimizing in-game metrics
• Meet with stakeholders regularly to gather requirements, present findings, and support data-driven decision-making
• Conduct analysis in Databricks, leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity and output quality
• Maintain and develop dashboards that enable stakeholders to understand business performance and support onboarding to self-service tools
• Maintain forecasting models and assist in franchise reporting and estimation as needed
• Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and analytical techniques
• Deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or unstructured data in a self-directed manner
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with dashboarding tools, with PowerBI preferred
• Experience supporting multiple stakeholders or projects simultaneously, demonstrating the ability to handle varied and shifting priorities
• Experience in the gaming industry is a bonus
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field preferred
• Strong proficiency in SQL; experience with SparkSQL, Databricks, or Azure Data Explorer is a plus
• Proficiency in Python; familiarity with PySpark is a plus
• Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools, with PowerBI strongly preferred
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Strong statistical analysis skills with the ability to connect out-of-game activities to in-game metrics
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of autonomy
• Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationships simultaneously, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
• Interest in gaming; experience in the gaming industry is a plus
• Must be local to the Seattle area
