Data Scientist (Contract) Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft. Summary This position offers an exceptional opportunity to leverage advanced analytics and data science to shape the monetization strategy for one of the world's most beloved gaming franchises. Working at the intersection of data, product strategy, and player experience, you will apply sophisticated statistical methods, experimentation frameworks, and predictive modeling to optimize revenue across multiple digital channels including subscriptions, content sales, and creator-driven offerings. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams in Product, Finance, and Marketing to deliver actionable insights that balance business growth with maintaining an exceptional player experience. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate complex data patterns into compelling narratives that influence executive decision-making and drive measurable business outcomes. Job Responsibilities • Apply advanced analytics, experimentation, and predictive modeling to optimize monetization strategies across subscription services, marketplace content sales, and creator-driven revenue streams • Build and maintain lifetime value models and analyze cross-product spending behavior to identify growth opportunities • Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests on pricing strategies and user experience changes to inform product decisions • Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to determine data requirements and implement best practices for data manipulation, storage, and analysis • Surface actionable insights that drive revenue growth while protecting and enhancing player experience • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear visualizations and compelling narratives • Train partners on data outputs and analytical frameworks to enable data-driven decision-making across teams • Work directly with content and subscription teams to improve content plans, monetization strategies, recommendation systems, and discovery mechanisms • Design, implement, automate, and maintain large-scale enterprise data ETL processes • Modify and optimize existing databases and database management systems to support evolving analytical needs • Test programs and databases, identify errors, and implement necessary corrections and improvements Requirements • 8-10 years of applicable experience in data science or analytics roles • Experience modeling user spending behavior in gaming, subscription services, or digital content platforms • Demonstrated history of using data to influence stakeholder decisions and drive business outcomes • Experience working with digital subscription-based or streaming services such as Netflix, Spotify, or similar platforms is highly valued • Background with user-generated content platforms like Roblox or Fortnite is a plus • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, statistics, mathematics, or related field required • Python programming with 4+ years of hands-on experience • Databricks platform proficiency with 4+ years of experience • Advanced SQL for complex data querying and manipulation • Attribution and causal inference methodologies with 4+ years of experience • Statistical foundations and predictive modeling techniques • A/B testing design and analysis • Presentation and communication skills with 5+ years of experience • Database technologies and architecture • ETL process design and implementation • Scripting languages for automation • Data visualization and storytelling • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Additional Details • Location: Redmond, WA (Hybrid: 3 days onsite) • Duration: 2 months • Pay Range • : $71.50 - $81 per hour • Weekly Schedule: 40 hours • Job Status: Non-Exempt • Application Deadline: Apply within 72 hours of the posting date to ensure consideration.
