Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Scientist to join a pioneering team at NGA, focused on advancing automated multi-INT analytic models for GEOINT collection. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives aimed at transforming current geospatial intelligence methods and increasing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop, test, and refine automated multi-INT analytical models to detect activity of interest and optimize GEOINT collection.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex, ambiguous problems into innovative, data-driven solutions.
β’ Leverage machine learning algorithms and advanced statistical techniques to analyze large-scale intelligence data sets.
β’ Create and maintain data processing workflows utilizing tools like JEMA, ESRI Model Builder, Alteryx, and Tableau Prep.
β’ Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies to continuously improve analytic capabilities and support mission needs.
β’ Document findings, develop prototypes, and support the implementation of scalable automated systems for operational use.
Qualifications:
β’ Active TS/SCI clearance, with a willingness to undergo a CI polygraph examination.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in a data science, computer science, or related STEM field; candidates with a Masterβs degree and at least two years of relevant experience are preferred.
β’ Minimum of two years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or analytics related to intelligence or geospatial data.
β’ Proficiency in Python programming; knowledge of additional languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with GEOINT collection processes and NGA/NRO systems is highly desirable.
β’ Experience with activity-based intelligence (ABI), multi-INT data fusion, and applying machine learning algorithms to complex datasets.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to evolving mission requirements, and an innovative mindset for research-style projects.
