Job Title: Data Scientist (Decision Science – Statistics/Econometrics Focus)
Location: Remote (Must be within 2 hours of Orlando, FL or Burbank, CA)
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Possible Extension / Conversion)
Pay Rate: $70/hr on W2
Eligibility: USC or GC only
🔹 Team Overview:
The Decision Science team operates within Disney Decision Science + Integration (DDSI), providing internal consulting across business units. The team focuses on building advanced mathematical and statistical models to drive business decisions across domains like theme parks, media, and retail.
🔹 Position Overview:
We are seeking a Data Scientist with a strong foundation in statistics, econometrics, and causal analysis. This role emphasizes analytical rigor over pure AI/ML, focusing on solving real-world business problems such as pricing, demand forecasting, and revenue optimization.
🔹 Must-Have Skills:
• Strong expertise in Python (production-level code, model deployment)
• Solid experience with SQL (Snowflake preferred)
• Strong background in:
• Statistics / Econometrics
• Causal Inference / Causal Analysis
• Demand Forecasting / Revenue Management / Pricing Models
• 3–5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
🔹 Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or related field
• Experience with tools like GitHub/GitLab, Docker, AWS
• Strong academic or practical exposure to econometrics/statistical modeling
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement advanced statistical and econometric models
• Perform causal analysis to support business decision-making
• Build data-driven solutions using Python and SQL
• Work on pricing, forecasting, and revenue optimization problems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Present insights and model outcomes to business leaders
