Data Scientist

Job Title: Data Scientist III (Contract) Location: Menlo Park, CA (Onsite) Duration: 6-Month Contract Portfolio Required We are seeking a highly experienced Data Scientist to support strategic initiatives across the FB Social ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical depth, experience working with large-scale datasets, and a passion for driving product and business impact through data. 🔍 What You’ll Do • Data Analysis & Modeling: • Analyze complex, large-scale datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights across products, platforms, partners, and user interactions. • Metric Development: • Design, build, and maintain core metrics to measure ecosystem health, engagement, and growth. • Experimentation: • Design and execute experiments to evaluate new features, partnerships, and strategic initiatives. • Stakeholder Collaboration: • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to define requirements, deliver insights, and inform decision-making. • Reporting & Visualization: • Build dashboards and reports to clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Ad Hoc Analysis: • Provide fast, high-quality insights for urgent business questions in a dynamic environment. ✅ Must-Have Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in Data Science / Analytics • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python or R • Advanced analytical and modeling skills • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Unidash, Metrics360) • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Experience working with large-scale datasets • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment • Product analytics experience • Portfolio required • Previous Meta experience highly preferred 🌟 Nice-to-Have • Experience in big data or tech/platform ecosystems • Familiarity with Meta internal tools (Presto, Scuba, Hive) • Knowledge of experiment design and causal inference • Prior experience in a contractor or consulting role 🎓 Education • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
