Role description
Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Scientist in Orlando, FL. Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to design, build, and scale advanced analytical and forecasting solutions that drive real operational impact. This role focuses on applying statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques in production environments, partnering closely with operators and stakeholders to ensure forecasts are trusted, usable, and continuously improving. This is not a purely academic role. Success requires strong engineering discipline, sound judgment under ambiguity, and the ability to translate complex data into insights that influence day-to-day decisions. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain production-grade analytical and forecasting models including: β€’ Time-series and causal forecasting β€’ Statistical and econometric models β€’ Machine learning and optimization approaches β€’ Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and drivers of variability β€’ Perform feature engineering, model validation, and error analysis to improve reliability and performance over time β€’ Build scalable analytical pipelines and workflows using Python and SQL β€’ Create clear dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau β€’ Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure forecasts are operationally relevant and actionable β€’ Continuously improve forecasting systems-not just individual models-across data, tooling, workflows, and adoption β€’ Explore and evaluate emerging analytics, ML, and AI-enabled tools and methodologies β€’ Provide mentorship and technical guidance to analysts, engineers, and junior data scientists What Success Looks Like β€’ Shipping forecasts that operators trust and actively use β€’ Scaling forecasting coverage across venues, regions, or use cases with less friction over time Requirements β€’ Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field β€’ 3+ years of applied experience designing, developing, and deploying analytical models in real-world environments β€’ Strong foundation in: Statistics, mathematics, and data mining; Machine learning and predictive modeling β€’ Production-grade Python fluency, including the ability to read, extend, and improve existing codebases β€’ Experience with SQL and data transformation workflows β€’ Hands-on experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) β€’ Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex analytical findings to diverse audiences β€’ Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and sound judgment β€’ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with evolving priorities Nice To Have β€’ Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred β€’ Experience delivering operational forecasting at scale β€’ Exposure to high-volume, consumer-facing, or operations-driven environments β€’ Familiarity with cloud-based analytics or ML platforms β€’ Previous leadership, mentoring, or people-management experience The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
