The Job
We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join a high-impact early-stage startup, gearing up for a Series-A funding that operates at the intersection of green transportation and AI innovation. You’ll play a key role in designing, deploying, and scaling analytical and machine learning solutions. Expect a hands-on role where you’ll extract actionable insight from complex data, work closely with delivery teams, and influence strategic outcomes with intelligent models and tools.
This position begins as a contract role and transitions into a permanent position upon securing Series A funding. You’ll be part of a team solving real problems and delivering operational impact in national infrastructure, regulation, and energy domains.
The Company
My client is a purpose-led startup building data-driven transformation solutions. They combine cutting-edge data science, technology, and strategy to modernise how critical infrastructure operates. Already working with major public bodies and in advanced Series A funding talks, they’re scaling fast—and this hire is a crucial part of that growth.
You’ll join a sharp, mission-driven team during an exciting growth phase, where your work has real-world impact and visibility.
About You
You’re a data scientist who enjoys working on end-to-end solutions—from data extraction to deploying production-grade models. You understand how to work in ambiguity, you care about impact, and you’re comfortable switching between analysis, stakeholder engagement, and delivery.
• Experience with machine learning, statistical modelling, and optimisation
• Skilled in Python and data tools (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, PySpark)
• Able to work with large, messy datasets (SQL, NoSQL, cloud storage)
• Understands the ML lifecycle: from experimentation to deployment
• Comfortable working in consulting or cross-functional teams
• Bonus: Experience in public sector, energy, or regulation
Why Would You Join?
This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage company that’s solving real-world problems with data and AI. You’ll shape the foundations of a growing product and team, gain exposure to senior stakeholders, and contribute to meaningful digital innovation. Your work won’t sit in a notebook — it’ll deliver measurable impact.
