Job Title: Data Scientist – Manufacturing AI & Analytics

Overview
A leading biotech/pharmaceutical company is seeking a Data Scientist to support AI and advanced analytics initiatives across manufacturing, quality, and technical operations. The role focuses on developing machine learning, optimization, and statistical solutions to improve operational efficiency and process performance within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and optimize machine learning and statistical models for manufacturing analytics.
• Develop anomaly detection and predictive monitoring systems.
• Perform statistical analysis, simulation modeling, and optimization studies.
• Analyze large manufacturing and scientific datasets to identify trends and process improvements.
• Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for operational insights.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and research teams.
• Support deployment, validation, and monitoring of AI/ML solutions.
• Utilize cloud, automation, and Generative AI technologies to improve workflows.
Required Qualifications
• Ph.D. in a quantitative STEM field with 0–2 years of experience
• OR
• Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with:
• Pandas
• Scikit-learn
• Jupyter Notebook
• Machine Learning frameworks
• Knowledge of:
• Statistical modeling
• Optimization algorithms
• Feature engineering
• Data mining
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Git, and SQL/PostgreSQL.
Preferred Background
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to manufacturing analytics, quality systems, or scientific data.
• Knowledge of Generative AI or bioinformatics is a plus.
Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional environment.
