Role description
Data Scientist - Mid Level Growth Marketing Team This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid contract role located in Cupertino, CA. Summary We are seeking a Data Scientist to join the Growth Marketing team and support analysis of marketing and operational performance. This role will play a key part in expanding and automating reporting and dashboard capabilities, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver insights that drive strategy and execution. The ideal candidate is a curious self-starter with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with large datasets. Our Ideal Candidate • 3–5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field • Passion for marketing and operations with a strong foundation in data analysis and reporting • Proficient in SQL, Python, and Tableau, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Familiar with ETL processes, automation, and/or machine learning • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams across marketing, operations, and engineering • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, timelines, and stakeholders • Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail • Comfortable investigating datasets and proactively surfacing insights and recommendations Job Description In this role, you will analyze and report on marketing and operational performance to drive data-informed decision-making. You’ll partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define key performance indicators and reporting needs. This includes: • Writing and optimizing SQL/Python queries to extract and analyze large datasets • Developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards • Performing ad-hoc deep-dive operational analysis • Initiating projects to build and procure additional data for reporting and analysis • Maintaining knowledge of operational and performance datasets • Balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment You will also support the growth of automated reporting and dashboard capabilities, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility across the team. Education And Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) • Background in marketing analytics, operations, or data-driven business functions • Preferred experience with SaaS or enterprise-level marketing/operational datasets Additional Requirements • This opportunity is located in Cupertino, CA and requires a hybrid onsite schedule • The pay for this W-2 position is $89.65 per hour • This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements Mathys+Potestio values applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
