Role description
We’re partnering with our client, a leading company in music and entertainment, to find a talented Data Scientist to join their Music Publishing Operations team. This role is based in New York City and offers a hybrid work arrangement with a primary remote component. The position is a contractor engagement lasting between 7 to 12 months, suitable for candidates with a strong foundation in data analysis, Python, and SQL, and a genuine interest in music industry data workflows. ONLY USC AND GREEN CARD - NO SPONSORSHIP OR C2C Data Scientist Responsibilities: β€’ Develop and maintain recurring reports to support business analytics and operational oversight. β€’ Handle incoming data requests, including ad hoc analysis and data extraction. β€’ Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate complex licensing and publishing questions into clear analytical problems and insights. β€’ Create reliable data products, such as dashboards and datasets, to facilitate data-driven decision-making. β€’ Design automation workflows to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and ensure operational precision. Data Scientist Qualifications: β€’ Must have experience with Looker or Tableau, advanced Python automation, understanding of music industry licensing, and skills in building operational tools for process improvement. β€’ Proven experience managing all aspects of the data science workflow, from data cleaning to modeling. β€’ Proficiency in SQL and working with large, complex datasets. β€’ Intermediate skills in Python programming. β€’ Ability to communicate technical findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders. β€’ Strong focus on data quality, accuracy, and repeatability. β€’ Familiarity with integrating AI tools into data workflows.
