Data Scientist (Python / PySpark) – Contract
Contract: 2 Months (September – November)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join a high-profile programme delivering innovative digital products within a large-scale data platform.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will focus on designing and developing data science solutions that support new product development. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, design and product teams to build scalable analytics pipelines and help translate data science models into production-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop scalable analytics and data pipelines.
• Build and optimise data science solutions using Python and PySpark.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and design teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support product discovery activities by identifying data opportunities and analytical approaches.
• Translate analytical models and business requirements into solutions for development teams.
• Work within an agile, cross-functional delivery environment.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of digital products from concept through to implementation.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Strong commercial experience as a Data Scientist.
• Excellent Python programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with PySpark (essential).
• Experience designing and developing data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and data manipulation skills.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Skills
• Experience with Databricks or Apache Spark.
• Experience within healthcare, population health management, workforce planning or supply chain analytics.
• Experience supporting dashboard migration or modernisation projects.
• Experience working within cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
