Role description
The Opportunity: Where Governance Meets Cutting-Edge Tech
Are you a Power Platform specialist who enjoys building elegant technical solutions rather than just following PMO processes?
We are representing a leading organisation within the UK transport sector that is currently navigating a historic period of transformation. As they move toward a major national merger, they are looking for a technical specialist to take ownership of their digital PMO landscape.
This is not a traditional PMO administration role. We need a "hands-on" architect to lead the roadmap for a sophisticated, enterprise-level PPM tool built on the Microsoft Power Platform. You will be the technical heart of a PMO that oversees 90 active projects and supports over 40 project managers.
The Mission: Innovate, Automate, and Integrate
As the internal Subject Matter Expert, you will bridge the gap between high-level governance and deep technical development. Your goal is to ensure the business has a "single source of truth" for decision-making through:
β’ System Evolution: Managing and evolving "Project Prime," an advanced PPM tool leveraging Microsoft Planner, Power Apps, and Dataverse.
β’ The AI Roadmap: Leading the charge into the future by implementing AI Builder and Copilot Studio to automate risk analysis and lessons learned.
β’ Data Artistry: Creating high-impact Power BI dashboards using complex DAX and Time intelligence to provide senior leaders with actionable insights.
β’ Strategic Integration: Optimising workflows between the Power Platform and external tools like DocuSign, SAP, and potentially Primavera P6.
Who You Are
You are a proactive, outgoing technical specialist who enjoys stakeholder engagement as well as getting into the technology. We are looking for:
β’ Deep Technical Proficiency: You must have proven, hands-on experience with Power Apps (Canvas & Model-driven), Power Automate, SharePoint, and SQL/VBA.
β’ The "Developer" Mindset: You enjoy gathering user requirements and translating them into robust system enhancements without needing constant direction.
β’ Analytical Excellence: You likely hold a Power BI Data Analyst certification and thrive on data architecture and system integration.
β’ Communicative & Proactive: You are comfortable engaging with Finance, IT, and senior sponsors to challenge current processes and suggest smarter ways of working.
Why Apply?
This is a chance to shape the technical direction of a massive infrastructure portfolio during a period of national significance.
β’ Total Travel Freedom: Benefit from free travel across a major regional rail network, along with a health cash plan and gym tax benefits.
β’ Tangible Impact: You will have the autonomy to "mold" the system and drive innovation, including real-world AI implementation.
β’ A Modern Interview Process: Forget standard "death by PowerPoint" interviews. We want to see your talent in action through a "show and tell" sessionβbring your laptop and show us what youβve built.
Are You Ready to Build the Future?
If you are a technical specialist looking for a role with high visibility and the chance to work at the forefront of PMO technology, we want to hear from you.
