Data Scientist (Only Local Candidates)

Job Title: Data Scientist Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid) Job Type: Contract Citizenship Requirement: U.S.C. or GC Holders only Overview We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong expertise in machine learning, NLP, and generative AI for a contract role based in Reston, VA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern AI/ML tools and cloud platforms, and the ability to develop and deploy advanced models to solve business problems. Key Responsibilities • Build and fine-tune ML/NLP models using Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn • Work with LLMs (GPT, Claude, LLaMA) and frameworks like LangChain, RAG, LoRA, PEFT • Develop AI agents using agentic programming concepts • Process and analyze structured and unstructured data, including text and images • Utilize AWS (SageMaker, Redshift, EMR), Spark, and SQL for data processing and model deployment • Present insights using tools like Tableau, Quicksight, or Kibana Requirements • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field • 3+ years of experience in ML, NLP, and deep learning • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud environments (preferably AWS) • Experience with image models (e.g., ResNet, CLIP), vector DBs, and knowledge graphs • Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and Agile methodologies Skills: data,advanced,models,sagemaker,emr,image models,cloud,peft,redshift,agile methodologies,kibana,ml,pytorch,langchain,generative ai,git,scikit-learn,aws,nlp,learning,quicksight,tensorflow,sql,vector dbs,tableau,llms,lora,python,knowledge graphs,spark,machine learning,rag,resnet,jenkins,clip
