Role description
Data Scientist (Manufacturing Data Analytics – Power BI & Power Apps) Location: Camden, AR (Onsite Only) Schedule: 40 hours/week, 4/10s Contract Type: 1 Year Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship only (no dual citizenship) Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Data Scientist to support the Manufacturing (MFG) Engineering organization through advanced data analytics, visualization, and automation. While previously classified under a Manufacturing Engineer title, this role is data-centric and focused on Power BI dashboard development, Power Applications, and data mining within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Manufacturing team to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that improve visibility, automation, and decision-making. This role requires deep, hands-on expertise in Power BI (not just familiarity), Power Apps development, data integration, and performance metric creation, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that optimize manufacturing processes. Responsibilities β€’ Design, develop, deploy, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards that provide actionable manufacturing insights. β€’ Perform data mining and establish robust data relationships within Power BI to support automation and data integration efforts. β€’ Design, develop, and deploy Power Applications to streamline and automate manufacturing and operational workflows. β€’ Create and maintain performance metrics and KPIs supporting manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity. β€’ Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and cross-functional teams to identify analytics needs and deliver effective data solutions. β€’ Support automation and integration initiatives through structured data modeling and Power BI relationships. β€’ Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor, analyze, and improve manufacturing processes. β€’ Develop and maintain detailed documentation for data analytics processes, tools, dashboards, and best practices. β€’ Mentor and guide junior engineers and analysts in data analytics techniques, Power BI, and Power Applications. β€’ Communicate data findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. β€’ Lead complex analytics initiatives independently with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. β€’ Minimum of 9 years of experience in manufacturing, data analytics, or related engineering roles. β€’ Proven, hands-on experience creating Power BI dashboards (must demonstrate more than general familiarity). β€’ Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying Power Applications. β€’ Strong experience in data mining and establishing relationships within Power BI for automation and integration purposes. β€’ Extensive experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies. β€’ Solid understanding of database management concepts. β€’ Experience working with Snowflake. β€’ Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). β€’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. β€’ Ability to work independently and lead high-impact projects. β€’ Proven experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers or analysts. β€’ U.S. Citizenship required (no dual citizenship). Preferred Qualifications β€’ Advanced degree in Engineering or Computer Science. β€’ Experience with additional data visualization and analytics tools such as: β€’ Minitab β€’ JMP β€’ Induction Automation β€’ Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
