Location: Hybrid: 3 days per week : BEAR CREEK A , WA

β’ Purpose of the Team: The team is part of the Minecraft data organization within MS Gaming and partners with crossβfunctional groups such as Product, Finance, and Marketing to deliver dataβdriven insights that enhance player experience and support business operations.
β’ Key projects: This role will contribute to support performance marketing initiatives through campaign experimentation. Helping evaluate opportunities the team has not previously leveraged.
Candidate Requirements
β’ Disqualifiers: Candidates who are not comfortable engaging with stakeholders regularly (e.g., presenting insights, driving conversations, or training partners on data outputs) would not be a fit for this role. It is non negotiable to be onsite for those 3 days, candidates who cannot commit to that will not be eligible.
β’ Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain heavy stakeholder experience with presenting insights and influencing stakeholder decisions and driving those conversations. Databricks exposure/experience
Hard Skills Assessments
β’ Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: asap
β’ Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include one round with the sponsor and an FTE (one hour)
β’ Required Candidate Preparation: come prepared with ex of how they used data to influence stakeholder decisions
Summary:
This is a Marketing Data Science role. Marketing analytics experience required.
Measure what actually drives Minecraft player acquisition, reactivation, and long-term value across marketing channels. This role will own campaign post-mortems, attribution modeling, and marketing funnel analysis β connecting upstream spend and impressions to downstream engagement and monetization outcomes. You will partner with Growth Marketing and Finance to inform budget decisions and build the measurement frameworks that scale Minecraft's marketing effectiveness. The ideal candidate blends analytical rigor with marketing intuition and can translate complex attribution results into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
β’ Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies
β’ Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions
β’ Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes
β’ Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes
β’ Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
β’ 8-10 years applicable experience required
β’ Experience with database technologies
β’ Knowledge of the ETL process
β’ Knowledge of at least one scripting language
β’ Strong written and oral communication skills
β’ Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
β’ Demonstrated history of success
β’ Desire to work with data and help businesses make better data-driven decisions
