Strategic Market Data Lead | London | Remote-Friendly | We're working with a prestigious UK-based Wealth Management disruptor on this exciting opportunity. They are undergoing a significant data transformation and need a strategic architect of change to optimize their market data ecosystem. This is a high-impact, standalone role that blends sophisticated Market Data Vendor Management with deep technical capabilities in Snowflake and SQL. You will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and data engineering to drive efficiency across their modern data stack. The Role • Lead the strategic oversight of all market data feeds, identifying synergies and driving massive cost-saving initiatives through vendor consolidation. • Act as the technical bridge within the Data Department, mapping how external feeds land in Snowflake and managing the end-to-end data lifecycle. • Partner closely with Procurement to master contract obligations and navigate complex market data vendor operating models. • Hands-on technical investigation: running SQL queries to audit data quality and comparing feeds without relying on external engineering support. • Implement AI-driven tools to automate data comparisons and streamline the ingestion of unstructured data like PDFs into the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). What You'll Need • Proven experience within Financial Services, specifically supporting Wealth Management or Investment Management environments. • Deep technical proficiency in Snowflake architecture and advanced SQL for data interrogation and comparison. • Strong background in Market Data Vendor Management (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Morningstar, etc.) and contract negotiation. • Familiarity with modern data concepts including Data Lakes, Data Ingestion pipelines, and Enterprise Data Platforms (EDP). • A "self-starter" mindset—the ability to work autonomously in a standalone role and engage directly with C-suite stakeholders.
