Data Scientist Data Science– Analytics & Data Foundations Fortune 500 Transportation & Hospitality Organization Contract-to-Hire (High Likelihood of Conversion) $90,000 Conversion Salary Hybrid – Miami, FL About the Role We are seeking a Data Science Contractor to join a centralized Data Analytics & AI team supporting enterprise-wide analytics and machine learning initiatives. This role focuses on designing, building, and validating high-quality datasets that power analytics, forecasting, reporting, and AI solutions. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business problems into structured, analytics-ready data assets. Success in this role is measured by the quality, usability, and business impact of the datasets you deliver. Key Responsibilities Translate business requirements into well-structured datasets Use SQL and Python to extract, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources Design transformations including joins, aggregations, and feature creation Build repeatable data preparation workflows Implement data validation and quality checks Investigate discrepancies and improve data consistency Document schemas, logic, and business rules Provide clean datasets to support modeling, experimentation, and dashboards Required Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on experience in data-focused roles Strong SQL skills (complex joins, aggregations, window functions) Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy or similar) Experience building repeatable ETL/ELT workflows Experience working with large, real-world datasets Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to clearly communicate data assumptions and trade-offs Nice to Have Experience with dimensional data modeling Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Familiarity with Spark or Databricks Experience supporting machine learning teams Experience with version control and collaborative workflows This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of analytics and data engineering—building scalable data foundations that directly support high-impact business initiatives.
