Role: Data Scientist Senior Supporting: Large Financial Services Client Location: McLean, VA (Onsite) Assignment Type: Contract Only Duration: ~ 7 Months Role Overview: We’re seeking a highly analytical, execution‑focused Data Scientist to help transform raw data and emerging AI capabilities into practical, reusable solutions that improve efficiency and decision‑making. This role emphasizes rapid experimentation, data operationalization, and applied GenAI. This is an applied, execution‑driven role emphasizing problem understanding, rapid experimentation, data operationalization, and GenAI; not modeling alone. You’ll thrive here if you’re intellectually curious, execution ‑ oriented, and motivated by delivering actionable solutions that move the business forward. Key Responsibilities: • Partner with business teams to understand complex problem statements and translate them into AI‑enabled solutions • Extract, clean, and structure data from raw and heterogeneous sources to enable analytics and GenAI use cases • Develop Python‑based prototypes and tools that leverage advanced analytics and generative AI • Design, test, and refine prompts to deliver reliable, explainable, decision‑ready AI outputs • Collaborate with data, technology, and engineering partners to align prototypes with production standards • Contribute reusable code, patterns, documentation, and demos to shared repositories to enable scaling and reuse • Support testing, validation, and iteration of AI solutions prior to broader deployment Qualifications: • 5–7 years of relevant experience • Strong Python programming skills • Analytical mindset with a solid technical background • Hands‑on experience designing, testing, and refining prompts for large language models (LLMs) • Plus: Experience building end‑to‑end AI solutions Compensation and Benefits: The pay rate for this position is between $75.57 and $79.00 per hour.
