Job Title: Data Scientist Location-Type: Remote or Hybrid (Wilmington, DE area preferred) Start Date Is: Mid-to-late January 2026 Duration: 12-month contract Compensation Range: $65+ per hour W2 Job Description: Join the client's R&D team as a Data Scientist focused on developing predictive models and data-driven insights for materials and formulation design. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Collect and preprocess experimental and database-driven data • Develop and optimize predictive models using machine learning • Perform data mining and statistical correlation analysis • Support formulation design using computer vision and modeling techniques • Present findings and insights to internal stakeholders and SMEs • Collaborate closely with R&D, data engineering, and business teams Requirements: Must-Haves: • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, or related field • Strong Python skills for data preparation, modeling, and visualization • Experience with machine learning for R&D applications • Background in data mining, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement Nice-to-Haves: • Familiarity with SQL or MongoDB • Experience with cloud computing (Azure preferred) • Background in material science or formulation research Benefits: • This role is eligible to enroll in both Mondo's health insurance plan and retirement plan.
