Role description
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support advanced analytics and predictive modeling initiatives with our client. This role focuses on leveraging Python, SQL, and Power BI to drive insights and guide strategic decision-making. The Data Scientist will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to analyze reliability trends, quantify investment impacts, and prioritize areas requiring infrastructure improvements. Projects will involve predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and the creation of data-driven solutions to support enterprise-wide initiatives. Key Responsibilities β€’ Develop predictive models and statistical frameworks to quantify business impacts. β€’ Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets sourced from various systems of record. β€’ Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools for stakeholders. β€’ Partner with business units to identify key areas for grid hardening, reliability improvement, and rejuvenation projects. β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective data-driven decision-making. β€’ Document processes, data collection techniques, and analytic approaches. β€’ Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field. β€’ Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, native data structures). β€’ Strong SQL skills with experience in querying, modeling, and database management. β€’ Power BI expertise in building dashboards and reports. β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in predictive modeling and statistical analysis. β€’ Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Git commands. β€’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with enthusiasm for using data to solve problems. β€’ Experience in the utility sector or with ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) tools is a plus.
