Role description
Data Scientist - 12 months extendable contract (or can convert to FTE)
Remote - West Coast hours
W2 only, no C2C, no sponsorship, no third parties.
About the job
A large consumer software business is adding a data scientist to the team that supports its CRM and lifecycle marketing programs. You'll work alongside marketing stakeholders to define and measure the metrics that matter, dig into where performance is coming from, and turn that analysis into recommendations the business can act on. It's a mix of hands-on analysis, dashboard and reporting ownership, and partnering closely with non-technical teams.
Requirements
• Strong SQL; writing complex queries to extract, join and transform data across relational databases
• Hands-on dashboard and report building in a BI tool, Qlik Sense specifically preferred
• Working knowledge of data pipelines and ETL tooling (Alteryx, Informatica, dbt, Airflow or similar)
• Applied statistical analysis - A/B and multivariate testing, regression, forecasting
• Lifecycle marketing and CRM strategy understanding: customer journey stages, retention, campaign optimisation
• Fluency in CRM performance metrics - open rate, CTR, CTOR, conversion, unsubscribe, churn, retention, LTV and engagement
• Audience segmentation, targeting, personalisation and dynamic content to lift campaign performance
• Campaign measurement across email, push, SMS and in-app
• Customer journey analytics - funnel analysis, cohort analysis, journey performance
• Experience with a CRM platform such as Braze, and integrating customer data for reporting
• Ability to tie CRM initiatives back to revenue, retention and loyalty outcomes
• Defining and maintaining KPI frameworks and standardised marketing reporting
• Data governance - accuracy, consistency and compliance with established standards
• Exposure to AI-enabled workflow automation, prompt engineering for data analysis, and human-in-the-loop validation of AI outputs
• Python or R for advanced analysis and automation is beneficial
• Strong data storytelling - explaining complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
