Type: Long-term Contract - through end of 2026 Location: Reston, VA - 3 days/wk On-site AVIVA Talent Advisors is hiring Data Scientist to join the Model Transformation team of a large financial services organization, a group who owns modernizing legacy models and ensuring top-tier performance across mission-critical financial systems. You’ll work alongside a highly respected data science leader, to bring transparency and clarity to model performance through high-impact dashboards and financial insight. This isn’t a role for a model builder - it’s a role for someone who can wrangle complex data, understand the business impact behind the numbers, and deliver clear, visual storytelling that drives decisions. What You’ll Do: • Ingest, clean, and manipulate financial data from multiple sources • Use Python, SQL, and AWS (SageMaker) to explore and transform datasets • Build intuitive dashboards that highlight model performance (Tableau or PowerBI) • Partner with model owners and internal stakeholders to surface insights • Operate in a sandbox environment with a high degree of autonomy What You Bring: • 3–7+ years of experience in Data Science, AI Engineering, or Financial Engineering • Strong foundation in financial modeling or quantitative analysis Fluent in: • Python for data manipulation • SQL for querying complex datasets • AWS (especially SageMaker) • Tableau or PowerBI for dashboarding • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to solving problems • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred, but not required with strong experience) Who This Role Is For: • A data-savvy problem solver who enjoys cleaning up legacy issues and bringing clarity to messy datasets • Someone who loves turning raw data into stories that decision-makers can act on • A consultant who can hit the ground running, understand context quickly, and build trust through quality execution ABOUT US AVIVA Talent Advisors is a Certified Women Enterprise Business (WEB) tech and executive search firm providing expertise in talent acquisition and talent intelligence.
