Key Responsibilities
β’ Partner closely with Customer Development, Shopper Marketing, and Analytics stakeholders to translate priority business questions into clear analytical approaches and insights using Kroger Collaborative Cloud data.
β’ Lead hands on analysis of shopper transaction, basket level, and loyalty data to uncover insights related to:
o Promotion performance and optimization
o Shopper behavior and trip dynamics
o Basket composition, cross purchase, and halo effects
o Assortment and pricing effectiveness
β’ Synthesize complex analytical findings into clear, decision ready insights that inform Kroger joint business planning, shopper marketing, and commercial execution.
β’ Collaborate with business partners & customer analytics to ensure consistent business logic, KPI definitions, and analytical assumptions when working with retailer transaction data.
β’ Develop visual outputs and narratives (tables, charts, dashboards, or slide ready summaries) that effectively communicate insights to both technical and non technical audiences.
β’ Act as a thought partner to the business by proactively identifying new analytical opportunities within KCC data to answer emerging business questions.
β’ Support knowledge transfer and documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and findings to ensure continuity beyond the 26 week engagement.
What You Need to Succeed
β’ Strong technical and analytical aptitude with the ability to focus analysis on business impact and decision making, not just outputs.
β’ 6+ years of experience working with large scale transaction or shopper level datasets, ideally within retail or consumer goods environments.
β’ Hands on experience performing analysis using cloud based analytics environments and modern data tools (e.g., SQL, Python).
β’ Proven experience translating retailer loyalty, transaction, and basket data into actionable commercial insights.
β’ Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain analytical findings and implications to non technical stakeholders.
β’ High intellectual curiosity, structured problem solving skills, and comfort working in an ambiguous, fast moving environment.
β’ Ability to manage work independently within a defined project timeline (26 weeks) while collaborating effectively with cross functional partners.
Core Skills
β’ Advanced analytical skills using SQL and/or Python to manipulate and analyze large transaction level datasets.
β’ Strong understanding of shopper analytics concepts, including trip missions, basket analysis, penetration, frequency, and cross purchase behavior.
β’ Experience designing analytical approaches to answer promotion, pricing, assortment, and shopper marketing business questions.
β’ Ability to translate business questions into analytical hypotheses and structured analyses.
β’ Strong data visualization and storytelling skills, with experience creating clear, compelling, and executive ready outputs.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
β’ Experience delivering end to end analytics projects for business stakeholders, from problem definition through insight delivery.
β’ Experience analyzing retailer transaction and loyalty data to drive commercial decisions.
β’ Experience creating data visualizations and summaries using tools such as Power BI, Excel, or similar.
β’ Experience working with Customer Development, Sales, or Shopper Marketing teams.
β’ Experience in consumer goods, retail, or related industries.
