Job Title: Data Scientist II (Contract) Location: Remote (PST Time Zone Required) Duration: 9-Month W2 Contract Pay Rate: $52–$64/hour (based on experience) Employment Type: W2 Contract (via Russell Tobin) About the Role Russell Tobin is supporting a leading healthcare technology organization in hiring a Data Scientist II to join their growing analytics team. This role focuses on leveraging statistical analysis and data science methodologies to generate meaningful insights that support clinical, medical, and commercial initiatives. Day-to-Day Responsibilities • Conduct statistical analyses, data visualization, and translate results into actionable insights using best practices and sound methodologies • Manage large and complex datasets, including ingestion, cleaning, validation, documentation, and storage in cloud environments • Develop summary statistics, tables, and visualizations for reports, presentations, and publications • Document analytical approaches and clearly communicate findings and conclusions • Synthesize research findings and deliver actionable recommendations to stakeholders across all levels • Partner with cross-functional teams (product development, medical affairs, clinical education) to support data-driven decision-making and communications • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and methodologies in quantitative research and data science • Support additional analytical and research tasks as needed Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related) with 2–5 years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience • Strong foundation in statistical analysis, ideally applied to healthcare, behavioral science, physiology, or related domains • Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based data environments • Proficiency in Python and/or R for statistical analysis and modeling • Experience with data visualization in programming environments • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey insights clearly to diverse stakeholders Preferred Qualifications • Experience designing and managing data collection processes and tools (e.g., Qualtrics) • Background in a research-focused role within healthcare, life sciences, or technology • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Russell Tobin offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
