Role description
Data Scientist Remote - United States Pay: $60-70/hour 6 month contract-to-hire engagement The Data Scientist role requires a highly skilled and experienced individual with a robust background in machine learning and generative AI, proficiency in Python, and experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) software stack. This role will involve leading complex data science projects focused on healthcare applications, developing innovative AI solutions, and mentoring junior team members. Responsibilities: β€’ Technically lead healthcare-focused data science projects from conceptualization to deployment. β€’ Development and Implementation: advanced generative AI models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, transformers) to solve complex problems; machine learning; natural language processing; use Python to build, test, and deploy data science solutions β€’ Utilize the GCP software stack (Vertex AI, BigQuery, AI Platform, Dataflow, etc.) to manage and analyze large healthcare datasets. β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical experts, to integrate data-driven insights into healthcare processes as well as mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists β€’ Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and senior leadership β€’ Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, generative AI, and healthcare analytics and ensure best practices in data science and AI are followed across the team. Experience/Education: β€’ Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. β€’ 4-6 years of experience in data science or a related field, with a focus on healthcare applications β€’ Experience within a healthcare setting (hospital, ambulatory or ancillary services), preferred β€’ Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI. β€’ Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). β€’ Extensive experience with the Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, BigQuery, AI Platform, Dataflow, etc.). β€’ Strong understanding of healthcare data sources, healthcare informatics, and clinical data standards. β€’ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects. β€’ Strong communication and leadership skills. β€’ Proven track record of leading successful data science projects in the healthcare industry. β€’ Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinicians and healthcare professionals. β€’ Experience with electronic health records (EHR) data and healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR). β€’ Experience with containerization tools and technologies, particularly Docker. β€’ Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure). β€’ Familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., R, SQL).
