Data Storytelling and User Experience (UX) Specialist II – Contract Location: Remote Duration: April 6, 2026 – July 31, 2027 Employment Type: Contract Department: Quality Improvement – Data Literacy & Enablement Category: Non-Patient Care – Information Services Position Overview The Data Storytelling and User Experience (UX) Specialist II will support the Data Storytelling Center of Excellence (DSCOE) within the Data Literacy and Enablement team. This role focuses on improving how data is communicated across the organization by applying user experience (UX) and data storytelling best practices to dashboards, reports, and presentations. The specialist will create BI templates, deliver training sessions, and provide consultation for self-service analytics products. This position works closely with project leaders, data professionals, clinicians, and operational teams to ensure data products are clear, accessible, and visually effective. Success in this role will be measured by the quality of templates and materials produced, effectiveness of training sessions, and improvements in user experience across data assets. Key Responsibilities β€’ Develop and maintain templates for dashboards, reports, and presentations using standard BI platforms while applying UX and data storytelling best practices. β€’ Assist in designing and delivering training sessions on UX and data storytelling to employees including analysts, clinicians, researchers, and operational staff. β€’ Support consultation sessions for teams developing data products to ensure UX and storytelling best practices are applied. β€’ Collaborate with data analysts, designers, and stakeholders to translate business questions into clear data visualizations. β€’ Apply accessibility standards and inclusive design practices across all data assets. β€’ Participate in visualization reviews and demos to ensure high-quality analytic products. β€’ Help stakeholders understand and interpret data through clear and effective storytelling techniques. β€’ Work collaboratively with DSCOE team members to improve enterprise data literacy. Required Qualifications β€’ 2+ years of UX experience with a portfolio demonstrating previous work. β€’ 3+ years of data analysis experience. β€’ Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams. β€’ Strong understanding of user-centered design and data storytelling principles. β€’ Ability to translate business questions into data visualizations. β€’ Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail. β€’ Excellent communication and presentation skills. β€’ Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams. Technical Skills β€’ Intermediate knowledge of SQL and R β€’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel β€’ Advanced experience with Business Intelligence tools, such as: β€’ Power BI β€’ Tableau β€’ Qlik Sense β€’ SAP BusinessObjects β€’ Posit Connect β€’ Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Word and PowerPoint. β€’ Basic understanding of medical terminology.
