Role description
Role: Data SQL/BI Developer Location: Tampa, FL C2H We are looking for an energetic high-performing BI Engineer who will be responsible for both development on BI & Analtyics as well as software application design, development, testing, and problem resolution of software and web applications. The scope of work includes small system enhancements to major system projects. Responsibilities β€’ Produce intelligence reports (obtain information from internal and external sources, assess the value and provide actionable insight). β€’ Work on ad-hoc requests and produce the required deliverables as mandated by the requests. β€’ Responsible for data quality both for the raw data as well as the integrity of the calculations used for Measures β€’ Analyze and troubleshoot complex data cleansing, data integration, and data warehouse system issues, identify the reasons for problems, failures and malfunctions and develop optimal solutions. β€’ Monitor data integration and reporting anomalies and make adjustments as required. β€’ Work on Data conversion projects – from Legacy to Guidewire. β€’ Work on Cloud Data Projects – using Azure, Guidewire Cloud Data Access, etc. β€’ Will be responsible for a set of Compliance related reporting from Enterprise Data Warehouse β€’ Function as an active member of an agile team through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation) β€’ Conduct integration tests as defined in the test specifications, including event logging and reporting of results β€’ Perform unit and assembly testing of data software components including the design, implementation, evaluation, and execution of unit and assembly test scripts β€’ Conduct code reviews and tests of automated build scripts β€’ Debug data components, identifies, fixes and verifies remediation of code defects MUST HAVE β€’ T-SQL Coding and querying (SQL Server code) β€’ SSIS β€’ SSRS β€’ SQL jocky β€’ PowerBI β€’ Property and Casualty experience a preference β€’ Have Property & Causalty Insurance background Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Valid experience will be considered along with a Bachelor’s degree in another discipline. β€’ 3+ years of database (SQL Server) development experience with excellent query and stored procedure skills (T-SQL). Senior Engineers will have 5+ years of experience β€’ Should have experience with ETL using SSIS and other ETL tools. Should have excellent knowledge of building and using T-SQL Stored Procedures. β€’ Experience with Power BI is desirable, If new then will have to learn quickly β€’ Experience with standard frameworks for reconciliation and traceability of data. β€’ Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to work well with teams internal to the department as well as other departments β€’ Must keep up to date with industry best practices and latest trends in BI & Analytics and incorporate them into our methodology. β€’ Must be willing to work outside the normal scope of business hours β€’ Read, interpret and apply complex technical publications, manuals and other documentation. β€’ Working knowledge of system analysis, design, testing, software configuration and troubleshooting techniques. β€’ This position is based within an assigned region; travel throughout the region is required with occasional travel to locations beyond the assigned region. β€’ Company paid pre-employment drug test and health screening required
