Role description
Data Warehouse Developer / Data Engineer -Remote Rate:$50-56p/hr.
The Data Warehouse Developer III is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehouse solutions using Alteryx, SQL, and other enterprise data tools. This role focuses on gathering requirements, building scalable data workflows, optimizing performance, and ensuring high quality, reliable data delivery across the organization. Candidates must have hands on experience with Alteryx for ETL, advanced SQL development, and modern data engineering best practices.
Core Responsibilities
• Gather and document business and technical requirements for ETL and data integration workflows
• Design, build, and maintain ETL jobs using Alteryx and other ETL platforms
• Develop incremental, full/history, and survivorship data load processes
• Implement Change Data Capture (CDC) for large-scale data movement
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and reporting
• Test, debug, and validate ETL processes to ensure accuracy and data integrity
• Schedule and monitor ETL jobs using enterprise job scheduling tools
• Load and transform data into data warehouses using ETL pipelines
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to support data initiatives and resolve issues
• Contribute to process improvements, automation, and data quality enhancements
• Use version control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub) to manage ETL and SQL code
• Support agile development processes and participate in team ceremonies
Required Experience
• 6+ years gathering requirements and developing technical specifications for ETL
• 6+ years designing ETL jobs using enterprise tools, including minimum 2 years with Alteryx
• 6+ years developing complex SQL (must be recent and hands on)
• 6+ years testing, debugging, and validating ETL workflows
• 6+ years developing data load strategies (incremental, full, history, survivorship rules)
• 4+ years implementing CDC (Change Data Capture)
• 2+ years scheduling ETL processes
• 2+ years loading data warehouses using ETL tools
Preferred Experience
• Experience with multiple ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, SSIS)
• Familiarity with data quality tools and data validation frameworks
• Experience using source control systems such as Git or GitHub
• Exposure to mentoring, knowledge sharing, and supporting ETL developers
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in an agile environment
• Strong communication, collaboration, and team-oriented skills
