Job Title: Data Warehouse Developer ETL

Responsibilities
β’ Develop and maintain the Data Warehouse based on business and technology requirements and industry standard best practices.
β’ Ability to work with SQL Server DBAs, system architect, and application developers to design stable, reliable, effective, and optimized databases.
β’ Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
β’ Assists in the formulation of business and testing requirements.
β’ Develop high quality deliverables.
β’ Follows all required software development standards, change control procedures, and security requirements.
β’ Ensure that the databases meet organization and performance requirements.

β’ Ability to build relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders, other technical staff, vendors, and end users.
β’ Coordinates and performs required unit, system, and performance testing. Works with other team members on User Acceptance testing and issue resolution.
β’ Participates in continuous improvement activities by identifying and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develops strategies for improvements.
β’ Produces status reports and communications on a regular basis.
β’ Support the Data Analytics Team in retrieving data from multiple data systems for use in data extracts, reports, and dashboards to ensure data quality before release.
β’ Create, execute, and monitor ETL processes including tracking and documenting findings.
β’ Create test scripts using SQL programming to validate data points against transactional systems and the data warehouse.
β’ Creating documentation needed to support repeatability of testing metrics.
Required Skills
β’ Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of software development best practices.
β’ At least five years of experience in ETL methodologies and development.
β’ Degree from an accredited college with a bachelorβs degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Services, Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business or Public Administration, Communications, or a related field. May be substituted with relevant software development experience of 5 or more years.
β’ 3+ years of SSIS experience.
β’ Experience working with Azure SQL Instance.
β’ Skill in SQL Server scripting.
β’ Skill in data modeling.
β’ Skill in the operation of computers and peripheral equipment.
β’ Skill in creative and analytic problem solving.
β’ Understanding of Data Warehousing principles, concepts, and architecture.
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project delivery dates.
β’ Ability to effectively analyze and manage requirements.
β’ Ability to visualize complex issues.
β’ Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
β’ Knowledge of programming concepts and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
β’ Ability to coordinate the work of a team with the work of other units within the Department of Research, Assessment, and Accountability and other BCPS offices, schools, and departments.
β’ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of users and team members.
