Direct End Client: State of Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC) Job Title: Data Warehouse/BI Developer 3 Duration: 08/01/2026 – 01/29/2027 Location: 6900 Atmore Drive, Richmond, VA 23225 Hours Per Week: 40 Interview Type: In Person Only Ceipal ID: SVA_SQL681_SN Job Code: 805681 Scope of Project: The Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Data Warehouse/BI Developer who can self-manage, collaborate with Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) and Project Managers (PMs), and transform business requirements into analytics-ready data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL Server data engineering expertise, dimensional modeling experience using Kimball methodologies, and hands-on experience developing data marts, SSIS ETL pipelines, and data flow design documentation. Responsibilities: • Analyze and profile source systems to determine data availability, quality, and extraction logic. • Design dimensional data models and star schemas to support analytics and reporting requirements. • Create detailed data flow and mapping documents that translate business requirements into technical specifications. • Develop and optimize SQL Server tables, views, stored procedures, and indexes for data mart solutions. • Create and maintain Visual Studio database projects for version-controlled and repeatable deployments. • Manage source code, branching, and collaboration workflows using GIT. • Design, develop, schedule, and monitor SSIS ETL packages. • Perform data validation and testing to ensure data quality, completeness, and business rule compliance. • Assist with dashboard and report development using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools. • Work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
