Our mission is to deliver cutting-edge technologies that protect the nation and ensure operational superiority. NSWCDD supports a diverse portfolio of classified and unclassified IT and engineering projects across multiple locations, including Dahlgren, Dam Neck, Wallops, Quantico, Norfolk, and San Diego. Position Overview: NSWCDD seeks a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to provide comprehensive database management, administration, and support services. The ideal candidate will have strong relational database experience, expertise in database design, performance tuning, and query optimization, and be capable of supporting both enterprise and non-enterprise environments. Responsibilities: Administer organization-wide databases using appropriate Database Management Systems (DBMS). Design database schemas, manage hardware/software configurations, and optimize performance. Coordinate with development and end-user personnel to assess application data access requirements. Monitor and ensure database performance, availability, and integrity. Implement changes, updates, and troubleshooting across database systems. Apply IT best practices and frameworks, including ITIL, DoD Enterprise Service Management Framework (DESMF), and DevSecOps principles. Support classified and unclassified networks while adhering to security and cybersecurity requirements. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years professional experience as a Database Administrator with relational DBMS expertise. Experience in database design, schema design, query languages, and performance tuning. Designation as IAT Level II T3 (non-enterprise DBA) or T5 (enterprise DBA). Familiarity with ITSM, ITXM, Helpdesk, enterprise application support, endpoint support, and cybersecurity practices. Ability to implement best practices and ensure compliance with NAVSEA, DON, and DoD governance. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with developers, engineers, and end-users. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science. Preferred Skills: Experience supporting classified networks (JWICS, SDREN, NMCI, cNMCI) and non-JWICS TS/SCI stand-alone networks. Familiarity with automation, digital transformation, and IT operations optimization. Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Fortran, or COBOL. GROUP ID: 10115903
