β’ YSI is seeking a Database Administrator (Oracle) to work in our Washington, DC office.
YSI is seeking a Senior DBA Engineer to join our growing team in support of a high-profile federal customer based in the Washington, DC area. This globally recognized agency plays a critical role in national law enforcement and intelligence operations.
In this role, you will provide senior-level database expertise, including strategic planning and hands-on support for the migration of existing database systems to the cloud. Experience with Oracle Exadata environments is essential, as you will be managing and optimizing performance across both on-prem and cloud-based platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that directly support national security objectives.
Primary Duties:
Respond to Tier-3 and 4 service tickets and special projects with senior level engineering
Configure Oracle applications and databases to include Oracle Application Servers (WebLogic), Applications (OIM), Databases (Oracle Database 12c/19c), Exadata
Perform the development of new or existing software architectural plans and designs
Create/Update Automated System Health Checks for daily, weekly and monthly status
Support System backup/recovery Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Data Center Disaster Recovery (DCDR) exercises and activities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge for both tools and operating systems as new versions are approved for use
This role is 100% onsite.
Required Skills
Must have a Top-Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCI-Poly
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
5+ recent years of experience with DBA/engineering
Installing, configuring and maintaining web applications in an enterprise environment
Upgrading applications to current version and migrating and/or re-designing the data models
5+ recent years of experience writing technical documentation to include (System Design Changes, Requirements Documentation, Version Documentation, Assessments and or White Papers)
Led or supported end-to-end cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, execution, and post-migration validation.
Experience coordinating across infrastructure, application, and DBA teams for successful cloud adoption and modernization efforts.
Exadata Skills:
Exadata Architecture: Strong understanding of Exadata components, architecture, and how Exadata optimizes database performance.
Storage Management: Experience with Exadata Storage Server, Smart Scans, and Hybrid Columnar Compression.
Performance Tuning: Expertise in database performance tuning specifically on Exadata.
Backup & Recovery: Experience with Exadata backup and recovery strategies, including RMAN (Recovery Manager).
Patch Management & Upgrades: Managing Exadata patches and upgrades efficiently.
ASM (Automatic Storage Management): Deep understanding of ASM for managing Exadata storage.
OID (Oracle Internet Directory) Skills:
Directory Management: Knowledge of managing and maintaining LDAP directory services using OID.
Integration: Experience integrating OID with other Oracle applications, including Oracle Identity Manager.
High Availability & Backup: Understanding of high availability configurations for OID and backup/recovery strategies.
Security Management: Experience in setting up and managing directory security policies, SSL configurations, and user authentication.
OIM (Oracle Identity Manager) Skills:
Identity Management: Expertise in managing user provisioning, identity lifecycle management, and user roles/permissions within OIM.
Integration with OID: Experience integrating OIM with OID for seamless identity management and directory synchronization.
Access Management: Managing user access policies, workflows, and security protocols within OIM.
Customizations & Workflows: Ability to configure and customize OIM workflows and connectors as per business needs.
Troubleshooting & Support: Strong skills in diagnosing and resolving issues related to OIM deployment, user provisioning, and identity synchronization.
Desired Skills
Experience with Software Development Suite (i.e. J Developer, Oracle SQL Developer Suite and Eclipse).
Proven experience in planning and executing Oracle database migrations to cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure, including lift-and-shift and re-platforming strategies.
Familiarity with migration tools and techniques, including RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM), and Oracle Cloud Migration Advisor.
Experience with Oracle Identity Management (OIM) tools suite
Experience with Microsoft Identity Management (MIM) tools suite
Experience with Information Assurance concepts and processes within the Federal government
Experience with Development & Operations (DevOps) and Configuration Management (CM) concepts, processes, and techniques
Experience with Single Sign On (SSO), Federation, and various Access Control frameworks
Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM)
Experience with Virtualized environments (VMware or Equivalent)
