β€’ β€’ β€’ W2 Contract Only – No C2C – No 3rd Parties β€’ β€’ β€’ Summary The Ash Group is hiring a Database Architect for our client (a major electricity and natural gas utility provider) in Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid). This strategic role requires 8-10 years of experience in data architecture to support the critical CIS Modernization/Transformation effort within the Customer Portfolio. You will focus on solution architecture, data modeling, data governance, and data integration patterns across a modern hybrid environment, heavily utilizing AWS native services and Databricks (Datalakehouse architecture). Role Details β€’ Compensation: Competitive pay rate of $107 per hour. β€’ Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and direct primary care benefits. After six months of employment, enjoy a 4% matched 401(k) plan with immediate 100% vesting. β€’ Duration: 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extension. β€’ Location: Hybrid in Minneapolis, MN. What You’ll Be Doing β€’ Provide architecture oversight and guidance for the CIS Modernization effort, specifically addressing data migration, data quality, and data access integration patterns. β€’ Assess and implement data modeling standards (e.g., Customer 360 view) for core operational databases, ensuring optimal design for storage and quick, real-time access (e.g., AWS Aurora/Relational database). β€’ Develop and set standards for data governance and management, defining system of record and system of truth to minimize data replication. β€’ Design solutions focused on data access, movement, visualization, and integrations across hybrid cloud/on-prem solutions, including SaaS platforms like Salesforce and the Xcel Energy Data Fabric (Databricks). β€’ Deliver architecture artifacts and diagrams using appropriate tooling, collaborating closely with database engineers and internal/third-party vendors. What We’re Looking For β€’ 8–10 years of experience in data architecture or a related technical field. β€’ Required experience with AWS native services and modern technology stacks (e.g., Databricks, Datalakehouse architectures). β€’ Strong experience/knowledge in data modeling skills (conceptual, logical, and physical modeling) is mandatory. β€’ Knowledge of SAP and/or Salesforce data models and architecture is preferred. β€’ Experience delivering architectural artifacts and diagramming with formal Architecture tooling. β€’ Experience in the Utility, Energy/Gas, or Communications sector is beneficial.
