Job Title: Database Architect Job Location NYC – 3 days/week onsite, Need Locals only Duration: 12+ Months Contract: W2 Primary Skills: Candidate needs to have exceptional T SQL skills, Banking experienc e We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer / Technical Lead with 12–15 years of hands-on expertise in ETL development, SQL Server, Python, and Linux. The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions while working closely with cross-functional teams across onshore and offshore environments. This individual must be self-driven, highly analytical, and capable of driving end-to-end technical solution s. Key Responsibilit iesLead and deliver end-to-end ETL development using SQL Server, Python, and Linux-based componen ts.Architect, design, and optimize database systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliabili ty.Develop T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database structures following best practic es.Work extensively in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting for automation and system tas ks.Drive Python-based scripting, automation, and integration workflo ws.Collaborate with analysts, SMEs, and business partners to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutio ns.Act as a technical lead for onshore-offshore teams, ensuring smooth coordination and high-quality deliverabl es.Troubleshoot complex data and performance issues; identify root causes and implement effective solutio ns.Maintain and enhance technical documentation, coding standards, and design guidelin es.Ensure adherence to organizational best practices, data governance, and compliance requiremen ts. Required Skills & Exper ience12–15 years of experience in ETL development with a strong focus on SQL Server, Python, and L inux.Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), inclu ding: T-SQLStored proce duresData modeling & architecture pat ternsPerformance tuning and optimiz ationStrong understanding of Unix/Linux environments and shell scrip ting.Hands-on experience with Python for scripting, automation, and data integration t asks.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environm ents.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to resolve complex technical is sues.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakehol ders.Prior experience working in engineering roles focused on database and data integra tion.Proven experience with onshore-offshore coordina tion.Experience in preparing and maintaining technical documenta tion. Nice-to-Have SkillsFamiliarity with AWS services and cloud technologies (e.g., EC2, RDS, Lambda , S3).Exposure to modern data pipelines, orchestration tools, or CI/CD prac tices.
