Job Title: Oracle Database Migration Consultant (Azure)
Location: Remote
Role Summary:
Responsible for planning, executing, and validating Oracle database migrations to Microsoft Azure, ensuring smooth transition across production and non-production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Application Deployment Plan (APD) including architecture, criticality, and migration schedule
- Prepare and update migration plans based on target availability
- Validate application testing strategies and provide feedback
- Perform migration readiness checks (network, storage, access)
- Execute migration waves for:
- Non-production assets
- Production assets (test + final migration)
- Clone and standby databases
- Conduct OMT-based validation and testing post-migration
- Develop and execute cutover strategy
- Deliver detailed Migration Results Reports
- Configure Oracle Data Guard (standby databases)
- Support Oracle Key Vault & OEM setup in Azure
- Assist with data replication and refresh processes
Required Skills:
- Oracle Database Migration (OMT preferred)
- Microsoft Azure (IaaS / DB migration)
- Oracle Data Guard, OEM, Key Vault
- Strong understanding of migration strategies & database consolidation
- Network, storage (NAS), and infrastructure validation
Nice to Have:
- Experience with large-scale enterprise migrations
- Automation or scripting (Shell/Python)
- Cloud migration tools & frameworks
Deliverables:
- Migration plans & schedules
- Test and production migration execution
- Migration validation reports
- Cutover and go-live support
Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
