Role description
Job Title- Database Engineer 3 (DBRE) Work Location: SUNNYVALE, California – Hybrid -Local Only Interview: Video + in-person Visa:- USC, GC, OPT, H4 or F1 visa candidates (no H1B) Max W2 : $75/hr PostgreSQL is not his CORE Looking for a candidate specialized in PostgreSQL and MongoDB. They need someone to architect and manage large scale PostgreSQL environments on GCP alongside AWS. This is a senior Database Reliability Engineer role where you’ll design and manage large-scale PostgreSQL environments while also working heavily with MongoDB. The role focuses on reliability, performance, and cloud architecture across AWS and GCP. Also lead major database migration and upgrade projects while building automated infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines. The role mainly focuses on PostgreSQL architecture and operations, while also requiring strong expertise in MongoDB. Comfortable working in cloud environments like AWS and GCP MUST HAVE SKILLS: PostgreSQL (very strong expertise) MongoDB (critical requirement) AWS Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Terraform CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as Code Replication Backup/Recovery Clustering Performance tuning Candidates must answer these questions and add them to their resumes: In the last 2 years, what percentage of your work was PostgreSQL vs other databases? How many years of hands-on experience do you have working with PostgreSQL in production environments? Can you explain how you have implemented high availability for PostgreSQL in production environments? How have you configured PostgreSQL replication and what strategies did you use for disaster recovery? What steps do you take when a PostgreSQL database starts experiencing performance issues? Describe a MongoDB production architecture you designed or managed. How do you design indexing strategies in MongoDB for large datasets? Which cloud platforms have you worked with for databases? AWS, GCP, Azure? Which AWS managed databases have you used and what operational responsibilities did you handle? Have you deployed or managed databases in Google Cloud Platform?
