Database Engineer

Job Role: Database Engineer Skills: SSIS, C#, SQL, Python, Data Factory, Data Bricks Location: Charlotte, NC – 3 days/week onsite " Only W2 Acceptable, please don't submit on C2C and H1T as well " " Only local candidates or candidates currently located within commuting distance to Charlotte, NC will be considered for this role. Relocation and remote candidates will not be considered. " A Database Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that store and organize critical business data. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop database architectures (Mainly Oracle, SQL Server) • Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions • Monitor database performance and tune queries for efficiency • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across systems • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies • Manage database access, roles, and permissions • Collaborate with application developers to design data models and schemas • Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution • Automate database tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Shell) • Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards • Support data migration and integration activities Required Skills & Qualifications Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Technical Skills • Strong experience with SQL and database design • Hands-on experience with DBMS: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQLand MongoDB • Knowledge of indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning • Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts • Experience with cloud databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus • Scripting knowledge (Bash, PowerShell) and winScp knowledge must Other Skills • Analytical and problem-solving skills specially for Prod support • Strong attention to detail • Good communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines • Certification in database technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle)
