Databricks Administrator

The Databricks Administrator is the hands-on technical owner of the organization’s Databricks platform supporting enterprise data and analytics workloads. This role is responsible for end-to-end platform operations, security, governance, reliability, and cost management. You will ensure the Databricks environment is compliant, secure, scalable, and optimized to support analytics, BI, and AI/ML use cases across SDLC environments. Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills • Hands-on Databricks administration (workspaces, clusters, jobs, SQL warehouses, repos, runtimes). • Strong Unity Catalog administration experience. • Proficiency in identity and access management, including SSO, SCIM provisioning, group-based RBAC, and service principals. • AWS expertise, including IAM, S3 security patterns, KMS, networking basics, and logging/monitoring. • Experience with automation and infrastructure as code using Terraform, CLI, and APIs. • Solid understanding of lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and separation of storage and compute. • Strong SQL skills with working knowledge of Python and/or Scala for troubleshooting. Compliance & Governance • Experience supporting regulated environments (FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar). • Familiarity with audit logging, evidence collection, data retention, and residency requirements. Education & Certifications • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience. • 7+ years of experience in cloud or data platform administration, including 4+ years with Databricks or similar platforms. • Preferred certifications: • Databricks Platform Administrator or Databricks AWS Platform Architect • Databricks Certified Data Engineer (Associate or Professional) • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
