Senior Data Engineer / Cloud Database Engineer (GCP)

US Citizen candidate only We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Cloud Database Engineer to serve as the lead point of contact for a large-scale data platform built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires strong collaboration with business and technical stakeholders, deep expertise in relational databases, and hands-on experience designing, optimizing, and supporting cloud-based data solutions. Must-Have Qualifications • US Citizen • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience • 5+ years of experience with relational databases such as: • PostgreSQL • MySQL • SQL Server • Oracle • Proven experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) best practices Preferred Skills & Experience • Experience with database management tools for: • Backup and recovery • Snapshot management • Sharding and partitioning • Performance tuning • Hands-on experience with GCP database services, including: • AlloyDB • Cloud SQL • BigQuery • Experience with data warehousing and data pipelines, including: • ETL / ELT processes • Dataflow • Cloud Functions • Familiarity with MLOps and machine learning workflows • Experience with application development and system integration • Strong background in database administration, including: • Storage and clustering • High availability and disaster recovery • Security and auditing • Monitoring and logging • Experience developing, deploying, and managing machine learning models • Programming experience in one or more of the following: • Java • Python • Golang
