Databricks Data & AI Engineer (Trading & Operations) Houston, TX (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite) Start: June 2026 | Long-term program The Opportunity We’re hiring a hands-on Data & AI Engineer to work directly with business teams, delivering high-impact digital, automation, and AI solutions. This is not a traditional back-end data role. You’ll be embedded within operational teams, identifying inefficiencies, shaping use cases, and building production-ready solutions that drive real business value. What You’ll Be Doing • Design, build, and deploy data, automation, and AI solutions from concept to production • Develop POCs, prototypes, and scalable solutions using Databricks and cloud platforms • Work closely with business users to identify opportunities for automation and AI-driven improvements • Translate complex workflows into practical, value-driven solutions • Build solutions using a mix of: • Data engineering (Python, SQL, Databricks) • AI/GenAI (LLMs, agents, copilots, document automation) • Automation tools (low-code or scripting where appropriate) • Partner with stakeholders across business and technology to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant • Operate in an Agile, fast-paced environment with a strong focus on delivery What We’re Looking For • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, AI engineering, or similar hands-on roles • Strong experience with: • Experience in trading, commodities, or energy • Databricks, Python, SQL • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred) • Experience building or working with AI/GenAI solutions (LLMs, copilots, agents, or similar) • Ability to work closely with business stakeholders and translate problems into solutions • Experience delivering end-to-end solutions (POC → production) • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on impact and value Nice to Have • Exposure to tools such as: • LangChain / LangGraph • Databricks Mosaic AI • Copilot Studio • Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) • Experience in process automation or workflow optimization • Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance in data/AI solutions Why This Role • Work directly with business teams on high-impact, real-world problems • Build solutions that go beyond dashboards, true AI, and automation use cases • Be part of a long-term, strategic digital transformation program • Blend data engineering, AI, and business problem-solving in one role
