Databricks Data & AI Engineer (Trading & Operations)

The Opportunity
Weβre hiring a hands-on Data & AI Engineer to work directly with business teams, delivering high-impact digital, automation, and AI solutions.
This is not a traditional back-end data role. Youβll be embedded within operational teams, identifying inefficiencies, shaping use cases, and building production-ready solutions that drive real business value.
What Youβll Be Doing
β’ Design, build, and deploy data, automation, and AI solutions from concept to production
β’ Develop POCs, prototypes, and scalable solutions using Databricks and cloud platforms
β’ Work closely with business users to identify opportunities for automation and AI-driven improvements
β’ Translate complex workflows into practical, value-driven solutions
β’ Build solutions using a mix of:
β’ Data engineering (Python, SQL, Databricks)
β’ AI/GenAI (LLMs, agents, copilots, document automation)
β’ Automation tools (low-code or scripting where appropriate)
β’ Partner with stakeholders across business and technology to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant
β’ Operate in an Agile, fast-paced environment with a strong focus on delivery
What Weβre Looking For
β’ 8+ years of experience in data engineering, AI engineering, or similar hands-on roles
β’ Strong experience with:
β’ Experience in trading, commodities, or energy
β’ Databricks, Python, SQL
β’ Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
β’ Experience building or working with AI/GenAI solutions (LLMs, copilots, agents, or similar)
β’ Ability to work closely with business stakeholders and translate problems into solutions
β’ Experience delivering end-to-end solutions (POC β production)
β’ Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on impact and value
Nice to Have
β’ Exposure to tools such as:
β’ LangChain / LangGraph
β’ Databricks Mosaic AI
β’ Copilot Studio
β’ Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
β’ Experience in process automation or workflow optimization
β’ Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance in data/AI solutions
