Role: Databricks Architect
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
Duration: 2+ Year Contract
Required Experience
• 12+ years in Data Engineering/Data Architecture.
• 4+ years of hands-on Databricks experience.
• Expertise in Delta Lake, Spark (PySpark/Scala), and Lakehouse Architecture.
• Strong experience with Unity Catalog, Data Governance, and Security.
• Experience architecting enterprise data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Responsibilities
• Design and lead Databricks Lakehouse architecture.
• Define best practices for Data Engineering, Analytics, and ML workloads.
• Architect ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption layers.
• Drive governance, security, lineage, and access controls using Unity Catalog.
• Establish CI/CD, DevOps, and IaC standards using Terraform and Databricks Asset Bundles.
• Optimize compute, performance, scalability, and cloud costs.
• Provide technical leadership and stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Skills
• Databricks Certifications.
• Kafka, Structured Streaming, MLflow, and MLOps.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, or large enterprise environments.
