Databricks Migration Technical Lead

Job Title: Senior Technical Lead – Databricks, Informatica & Oracle Location: Pleasanton, CA 94588 – Remote Duration: 12+ Months Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Onshore Technical Lead to drive a large-scale data platform modernization initiative, migrating legacy Informatica and Oracle-based solutions to Databricks. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, onshore teams, and offshore delivery teams, ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery of migration activities. Key Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end migration of ETL, data integration, and data warehousing workloads from Informatica PowerCenter/IICS and Oracle to Databricks. • Coordinate daily activities with offshore development teams and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. • Collaborate with business, architecture, and data teams to define migration strategy, priorities, and roadmap. • Review solution designs, code, data models, and migration approaches to ensure adherence to best practices. • Drive issue resolution, risk management, status reporting, and stakeholder communications. • Support effort estimation, sprint planning, release management, testing, and production deployments. • Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and successful validation of migrated workloads. • Support ongoing enhancement work on Informatica & oracle. Required Skills • Strong experience with Databricks, PySpark, Python, and Spark SQL. • Hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS). • Solid knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and ETL/Data Warehouse concepts. • Experience leading data modernization or cloud migration programs. • Strong stakeholder management and offshore coordination experience. • Experience working in Agile delivery environments. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Azure Data Platform services (ADF, ADLS, Synapse). • Knowledge of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows. • Experience with ETL conversion and data migration automation tools. • Experience: 10+ years in Data Engineering/ETL with at least 3+ years leading Databricks migration or modernization initiatives. • This version should work well for a quick internal requisition or MyS role request.
