Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Databricks Platform Admin to design, implement, and manage scalable and secure Azure Databricks platforms. The candidate will be responsible for platform provisioning, monitoring, automation, security, and collaboration with data and product teams to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, deploy, and maintain Azure Databricks workspaces and clusters.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
Monitor platform health, performance, and cost; create dashboards and alerts.
Troubleshoot cluster issues, job failures, and performance bottlenecks.
Implement security and governance policies using Unity Catalog and access controls.
Optimize compute and storage for performance and cost efficiency (Delta Lake, Photon).
Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to deploy pipelines.
Document architecture, best practices, and troubleshooting guides; mentor junior engineers.
Required Skills:
Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, ADLS, and Azure Cloud services.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL).
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of Databricks CLI, Azure CLI, and automation frameworks.
Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and platform optimization skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with data ingestion and pipeline tools (Qlik Replicate, Qlik Compose, Kafka, Matillion, Snowflake).
Familiarity with Agile product development and collaborative team environments.
Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to leadership.
