Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Data Bricks User Support Engineer to join our team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS and Data Bricks, with a proven track record of providing excellent technical support to users. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, collaborating with development teams, and ensuring our users have a seamless experience with our Data Bricks platform.
Responsibilities:
β’ Provide timely and effective technical support to internal users of the Data Bricks platform.
β’ Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues related to Data Bricks, including performance tuning, cluster management, and notebook errors.
β’ Troubleshoot issues within the AWS environment as they relate to Data Bricks functionality, such as S3 access, EC2 instances, and networking.
β’ Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
β’ Document support procedures, solutions, and best practices to build a comprehensive knowledge base.
β’ Conduct training and create support materials to help users become more proficient with Data Bricks.
β’ Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
β’ Participate in on-call rotation as needed to provide support outside of regular business hours.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
β’ 7+ years of professional experience in a technical support or engineering role.
β’ Extensive experience with Data Bricks, including cluster configuration, job scheduling, and notebook development.
β’ Strong proficiency with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, etc.).
β’ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
β’ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
β’ Experience with scripting languages like Python or Scala is a plus.
β’ Experience with SQL and data warehousing concepts.
β’ A strong commitment to user satisfaction and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
