Role description
A leading UK-based organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Deputy Director of Finance to provide strategic and operational financial leadership for its trading subsidiary. This is a high-impact role supporting sustainable growth, commercial decision-making, and financial performance across a socially driven enterprise. Client Details Kent based charity, with a growing trading entity Description • Act as a strategic finance partner to the CEO and SLT, advising on financial strategy, performance, and investment. • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling aligned with organisational goals. • Provide insightful financial analysis to support commercial decisions and service development. • Monitor financial performance, identify risks/opportunities, and support corrective actions. • Develop pricing models and cost recovery strategies for commercial contracts. • Ensure compliance with financial policies, charity regulations, and contractual obligations. • Prepare and present management information packs and financial reports to senior stakeholders. Profile Essential: • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or finalist with 5+ years post-qualification experience. • Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and working cross-functionally with non-finance teams. • Skilled in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, modelling) and accounting software. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • The ability to start this role immediately Desirable: • Knowledge of charity/social enterprise financial frameworks (SORP, Gift Aid, Restricted Funds). • Experience with SaaS business models, unit economics, and customer profitability. • Familiarity with public sector commissioning (e.g. NHS, local authorities). • Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau or other BI tools. • Understanding of social impact reporting and ESG metrics.
