About The Role We’re seeking a Design Engineer who blends strong product design skills with front-end engineering expertise and modern, AI-assisted workflows. You’ll design intuitive user experiences in Figma, leverage LLM-powered tools such as Figma Make, Lovable, and other AI coding assistants, and implement polished interfaces using React or Angular. You’ll also work with databases to support data-driven UI and rapid prototyping. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys vibe coding—fast, creative iteration powered by AI—and turning ideas into production-ready, data-backed experiences. Responsibilities • Design end-to-end user experiences using Figma, from early concepts to high-fidelity designs and prototypes • Build and maintain front-end applications using React or Angular • Use AI / LLM-powered tools such as Figma Make, Lovable, and AI coding assistants to accelerate design and development • Practice vibe coding for rapid prototyping and iteration • Work with databases to support data-driven features, prototypes, and user flows • Build reusable UI components and contribute to design systems • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on requirements and solutions • Ensure high fidelity between design and implementation, including accessibility, performance, and responsiveness • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and product iterations • Stay current with front-end, design, and AI tooling trends Required Qualifications • Strong product design experience with a portfolio showing end-to-end design work • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, Auto Layout, design systems, and prototyping • Front-end development experience using React or Angular • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript • Experience using AI / LLM tools in design or development workflows (e.g., Figma Make, Lovable, AI coding assistants) • Experience with vibe coding or rapid, AI-assisted prototyping • Working experience with databases (e.g., SQL or NoSQL) and data-driven applications • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications • Experience building or maintaining design systems • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) • Experience in agile or product-led environments • Experience integrating front-end applications with APIs and databases • UX research or usability testing experience What We’re Looking For • A hybrid designer–engineer comfortable moving fluidly between design, code, and data • Enthusiasm for AI-augmented product creation • Strong attention to detail paired with speed and experimentation • Clear communicator and collaborative teammate • Builder mindset with a passion for learning and iteration Nice to Have • Motion or interaction design experience • Experience with backend services or serverless architectures • Startup or zero-to-one product experience • Familiarity with additional AI tools or front-end frameworks MissionStaff is an equal opportunity employer.
