Developer- Python/API Development
Location: United Kingdom (Hybrid / Remote depending on project)
Contract: 12 Month Contract (Possibility of Extension)
Rate: £300 per day – Inside IR35
Role Overview
We are looking for a Developer to join a major digital technology programme within a leading telecommunications organisation.
You will work as part of an Agile delivery team, collaborating with developers, testers, business analysts and product owners to build and enhance digital platform solutions.
This role suits developers with experience in Python development, API integration and Agile delivery environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Python-based applications and backend services
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, BAs and product managers
• Build and integrate REST APIs and backend components
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups and sprint reviews
• Write clean, maintainable and scalable code
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across applications
• Support quality and testing activities alongside QA teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and delivery processes
Required Skills
• Experience working as a Software Developer
• Strong knowledge of Python programming
• Experience building or integrating REST APIs
• Experience using Git / GitLab
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Familiarity with JIRA / Confluence
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with Cucumber BDD
• Exposure to cloud testing platforms (BrowserStack / Perfecto / Headspin)
• Experience in telecommunications or digital platforms
• Understanding of automation testing frameworks
