Role description
Position: Device Platform Engineer (Endpoint Manager)
Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid, 2-3 Days Onsite)
Employment: Long-Term Contract-To-Hire
Pay Range: $45 - $52 / Hourly
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Device Platform Engineer for our client's Global DEX (Digital Employee Experience) / Client & OS Engineering team. You’ll design, deploy, and maintain the end-user computing platform for the client's global workforce. The two abilities that matter most are strong PowerShell scripting and hands-on Microsoft Intune (MDM) — paired with a data-analyst mindset to interpret endpoint/DEX data and drive measurable improvements. Some seats focus on mobility and require deeper iOS/Android management.
Key Responsibilities
• MDM management: Manage the MDM platform — Microsoft Intune for Windows, Android, and iOS (macOS via JAMF where needed).
• Automation (PowerShell): Write PowerShell to query machines, package applications, and build scripted fixes/remediations — from finding the problem to deploying the change.
• Data-driven remediation: Interpret endpoint / DEX data (e.g., Nexthink), detect issues, and drive measurable improvements, sharing status with security.
• Client infrastructure: Design, install, configure, and maintain client / end-user computing infrastructure.
• App packaging: Package and deploy business applications through Intune (or JAMF).
• Endpoint security: Engineer and support client security tools, baselines, and policies; manage CyberArk EPM.
• Virtual desktops: Support and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 (Cloud PC).
• Compliance & reporting: Manage compliance and patching for Windows and Microsoft 365; maintain Power BI inventory reporting and the knowledge base; provide top-tier client support.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in end-user computing / device engineering.
• Strong PowerShell scripting — 3–5+ years (scripting, application packaging, and scripted fixes/remediations).
• 3–5 years hands-on with Microsoft Intune (MDM) for Windows and mobile.
• Data-analyst mindset — able to interpret endpoint/DEX data and make decisions and drive measurable outcomes.
• Administration of Windows and macOS (iOS/Android depth required for the mobility-focused seats).
• Azure / Entra ID and automation tools (Azure runbooks, etc.).
• Application packaging tools (PowerShell Studio, AdminStudio, or Visual Studio).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
