Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled DV Cleared DevOps Engineer to support mission-critical government platforms in a secure environment. This is a hands-on role within a multidisciplinary engineering team, focused on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and cloud-native operations. You will work on high-impact projects that require DV clearance, contributing to national-level initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support secure software delivery.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Automate configuration management and system provisioning.
• Work in air-gapped or restricted environments with offline deployment patterns.
• Support operational teams in monitoring, logging, and system observability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across infrastructure, networks, and applications.
• Ensure compliance with MOD/NCSC security guidelines and governance policies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Active UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance – must be current and in use.
• 4+ years of DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, Packer.
• Containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (or OpenShift).
• Deep knowledge of secure networking principles, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Experience operating in air-gapped or classified environments.
• Proficient in Bash, Python, or Go for automation.
• Version control using Git (GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, Bitbucket).
Desirable Skills:
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud services in secure contexts.
• Experience with secure artefact repositories (e.g., Nexus, Artifactory).
• Monitoring tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with Agile and DevSecOps principles.
• Exposure to MOD, HMG, or NCSC-compliant environments.
